  • With multi-table join queries, the SQL engine has been specifically created to enable real-time data and numerous concurrent users.
  • As a fully managed SaaS platform, the new cloud-native version makes StarRocks’ solution more profitable for businesses.

StarRocks, a leader in real-time enterprise analytics, recently unveiled a cloud-native version of its SQL engine. Enterprises can now deploy real-time analytics projects more easily and faster, thanks to the fully managed software as a service (SaaS) platform StarRocks Cloud. Real-time analytics may now be democratized, thanks to this new cloud-based solution that can help accelerate digital transformation efforts even further.

Founded in 2020, StarRocks’ project was born out of the efforts being put on the Apache Doris OLAP database. With its Series B investment in February 2021, the company has raised more than USD 60 million in venture capital. Leading companies in the US, Europe, and Asia, including Airbnb and Lenovo, two market leaders, use StarRocks.

“The demand for faster insights poses several challenges for data infrastructure teams, including the non-stop growth of data, the proliferation of citizen analysts and data scientists, and cross-environment data pipelines that are increasingly brittle and complex,” said Mike Leone, senior analyst, ESG.

“StarRocks’ strategy is perfectly aligned to address these challenges. By harnessing the data, they have collected through their digital channels to gain timely insights, enterprise organizations can benefit from data freshness and responsiveness – critical ingredients for digital transformation success.”

Next-generation native cloud database

StarRocks is essentially a modern, cloud-native sub-second OLAP database. Its architecture was created to allow multi-table join queries, real-time data analysis, and several concurrent users. Data engineers can easily create a variety of models with StarRocks, including flat tables, star and snowflake schemas.

Enterprises can quickly examine historical and real-time data and make strategic business decisions with the help of a unified analytics platform. The greatest in-app suggestion and decision-making can be achieved by offering current analytics applications where the most recent transaction data is integrated with historical records.

“The growing complexity of data volumes and data pipelines along with the proliferation of citizen data scientists are major challenges holding enterprises back from being able to fully utilize the massive amounts of data they’re now able to collect,” said James Li, co-founder and CEO, StarRocks. “With StarRocks, customers can unite real-time analytics, an OLAP database, and data lake analytics onto one engine, with one data pipeline.”

Faster analytics with a single solution

With an increase in the number of data users across organizations, StarRocks facilitates growth with its high concurrency that can support more than 10,000 queries per second. The firm provides thorough real-time data support, including 100MB/s per node data intake.

The cloud offering has the following advantages:

  • Lower TCO and Reduced Administration Overhead – StarRocks Cloud is a fully managed SaaS platform from StarRocks that does not require users to undertake any administrative tasks.
  • Fastest Time to Value – Customers don’t need to download software or provision the hardware infrastructure.
  • Industry-leading query performance is provided by StarRocks Cloud, with benchmark testing results demonstrating a 3x to 5x performance boost compared to other providers.
  • Increasing Simplicity and Ease of Use – By removing complicated data pipelines and denormalized tables, StarRocks Cloud significantly reduces the typically complex needs of real-time analytics on the cloud.
  • BYOC (Bring Your Own Cloud) – Securely connects with current data infrastructure for smooth and secure operations
