Highlights

  • Snowflake expects Unistore to enable the future of application development, help teams gain deeper insights from all of their data and unlock new transactional use cases.
  • Customers like Adobe, Novartis, IQVIA, Wolt and UiPath already leverage Unistore in private preview.

Snowflake recently announced the debut of Unistore, a new workload that diversifies the Data Cloud firm’s capabilities and provides a modern method to work with transactional and analytical data in a single platform. The new product was launched at its annual user conference, Snowflake Summit 2022. Unistore expands the Snowflake Data Cloud’s power to streamline and simplify transactional application development while offering its customers consistent governance, high performance, and near-unlimited scale.

Transactional and analytical data have traditionally been siloed, causing complications when moving data between systems and slowing down the pace required for modern growth. Unistore allows teams to extend the Data Cloud to include transactional use cases like application state and data serving.

Unistore to be the foundation of a wave of innovation

In preview, Hybrid Tables will allow users to carry swift analytics on transactional data for immediate context and join Hybrid Tables with existing Snowflake Tables for a holistic view across all data. Unistore and Hybrid Tables will allow customers to construct transactional applications with the same ease and performance as Snowflake, as well as a unified approach to data governance and security.

Adobe has started deploying the private preview of Hybrid Tables for its Adobe Campaigns tool, allowing companies to provide rapid omnichannel personalized experiences at scale.

Nick Hall, Senior Director, Adobe Campaign and amp; Managed Cloud Services, said, “Running Adobe Campaign on Snowflake has enabled us to offer unparalleled speed and scale to our customers, who can now leverage our best-in-class cross-channel campaign management functionality with performance that can’t be matched. Our teams already love the improvements we’re seeing, including a 50x improvement in delivery preparation time. We look forward to seeing how Unistore will enhance the ability of Adobe Campaign to unlock even more possibilities for our customers to do personalization at scale.”

“Unistore is the foundation for another wave of innovation in the Snowflake Data Cloud,” said Christian Kleinerman, Senior Vice President of Product, Snowflake. “Similar to how we redefined data lakes and data warehouses for our customers, Unistore is ushering in a renaissance of building and deploying a new generation of applications in the Data Cloud.”

Other launches at Snowflake Summit 2022

Snowflake also announced the new Snowflake Native Applications Framework, Cybersecurity workload, Data Programmability innovations, and more at Snowflake Summit 2022.

With the new Native Application Framework, which is currently in private preview, developers can build applications and monetize them on Snowflake Marketplace. Consumers can securely install these applications and run them directly in their Snowflake instances. This will ultimately reduce the need for data to be moved. Snowflake intends to provide its customers and partners with a superior platform for developing data-intensive applications, and the Native Application Framework is a significant milestone in that journey.
